DO I NEED TO PRE-REGISTER FOR CLASSES?

Yes!
We only have 14 bikes so please sign up ahead of time ONLINE to ensure your spot. A credit card is required to reserve a space.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I AM PROPERLY ENROLLED OR CANCELLED OUT OF A CLASS?

Our system is fully automated and linked to your email account that you input when you set up your account. If you do not OPT IN on emails you will not receive class confirmations or wait list updates and you will be responsible for logging in to stay updated on your schedule. Please note that OPT IN is not for our e-blast updates. You will get added to that but can remove yourself at anytime without losing your "OPT IN" status with our online scheduler. You will receive an initial email when you set up this account. You will ALSO receive emails when you make a purchase, enroll in a class and/or cancel out of a class. If you are not receiving these emails, please check your SPAM folder and also check the email address you put into our system. A Typo can prevent emails from getting to you.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY PRE-REGISTRATION?

You may cancel ONLINE only up to 12 HOURS prior to the start time without penalty. Cancellations after that time will count as a class used. All unused classes are returned to your account for future use. If you see LATE CANCEL as the only option to cancel out of class, then you are past the timeline to cancel without losing a class visit. There are no refunds for any payments made so please CHOOSE your classes carefully. This is the same policy if you register for class and do not show.

If you are not in the class by the start time, your place will be released to the wait list.
**For safety reasons, latecomers can be not be admitted to class**

In the event that you can not attend class, you may send someone in your place with no penalty.

WHAT IF CLASS IS FULL?

WE HIGHLY encourage you to add yourself to the wait list online as people do cancel often the day before so this gives you time to plan to be in class. If someone cancels, you will be AUTOMATICALLY added to the class and you will receive an email confirmation. This can happen up to 12 hours before the start of class so please be sure to remove yourself from the wait list if you change your mind at any point to avoid losing a class. There is no penalty for canceling off the wait list at any time as long as you were not added in. If you want to come in and wait for an unused bike, then we recommend you stay on the wait list as we will pull from that 1st at the studio.

We also recommend that you show up for the class that you are wait listed for as someone may not show up and you can take their spot. In some classes there are 1 to 2 vacant spots due to no shows.

Shelby Nater
Shelby is a student studying political science and economics at Boston University, and started taking spin classes when she was just 12 years old at the YMCA. Her spin instructor was a 65-year-old man who loved to dance and sing to the music, so she has always thought of spin as a workout that should be fun and unrestrained! She lived in Orlando, Florida her entire life and made the move up to Boston for college (she had to move somewhere that actually had seasons!) Shelby found a love for exercise early in life, and did competition cheer and dance from when she was four years old until 8th grade, as well as running competitive cross country and track all throughout middle and high school. Since moving to Boston, she has continued to be a runner, running the Boston Half Marathon last October and training for the Bay State Marathon this year (hopefully qualifying for the Boston Marathon with this run!) Shelby’s spin classes includes lots of jumps, hills, and sprints to a variety of high-energy music!

Pat has always been drawn to and driven by being active – from wrestling to running and everything between he has done and enjoyed it all. After using exercise as self-medication for heartache, injury, desk-job blues and a host of other aliments with progressively more involved methods of being active, he began his journey of sharing the ‘exercise is medicine’ mentality with others. Kelly Nicolson Kelly was first introduced to spinning over 6 years ago by a close friend. She found that it was a welcome and needed change to her cardio routine at the gym. She loved the high energy, loud music, and SWEAT. After years of dragging everyone she knew to classes, her friends surprised her on her birthday by gathering money so she could get Spin certified. When I was a kid, my dad used to take my sister and I to the gym where he would lift weights, swim, run and play racquetball. We were too young to do anything except swim in the pool but we would get so excited about going to the gym. My dad never thought of working out as a hassle, it was a highlight to the day, and that's exactly what was passed down to me!
I found my love for movement in dance and running which carried on into my teenage and college years until I injured my knee and had to stop both entirely.

A few years ago, I began teaching spin classes and more recently, I became certified as a pre-natal yoga instructor. I gave up my PR job to take a managing job at Back Bay Yoga and Sweat and Soul Yoga and am now a full time yoga and spin instructor.
My thoughts on exercise haven't shifted much since my days at the gym with my dad. I love to motivate people and help them achieve their goals just as my students inspire me to complete goals of my own. I want people to leave my class feeling good about themselves and their bodies. I want them to sweat, feel challenged and to have fun! My classes are available to all levels and everyone is welcome.
Because of my regular yoga practice, I am now able to run multiple times per week and just finished my first half marathon! Yoga works!!

Every day I am grateful for being able to do what I do and in turn, grateful for my own teachers and students who allow me to do what I love.

Kirsten Durocher
As a former competitive gymnast in her younger years and an all-around sports enthusiast (especially hockey), Kirsten has found ways to stay healthy and active for most of her life. Never one to shy away from a meal or treat, Kirsten was always willing to give an extra 30 minutes in the gym in exchange for a something delicious.

After graduating from college, Kirsten found herself challenged by the idea of staying healthy and physically fit while also spending 10+ hours a day sitting at a desk or travelling for business. Certainly no stranger to the gym or the treadmill, Kirsten started dabbling in spin classes off and on to mix things up and most especially to find a fun, indoor workout, to avoid terrible springtime allergies.

Kirsten found SASY and fell in love with the studio, the instructors, and the bikes, almost immediately. For the first time since playing sports, Kirsten had found a fun and intense workout, where the minutes seem to fly by unnoticed. Kirsten is energetic and excited to share her love for spinning and sweating, while jamming to up-tempo music (some country) that spans over several decades. She works full time as a NASM certified personal trainer and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Health Promotion from Simmons College. Heidi is certified to teach cycling through Mad Dogg Spinning as well as Real Ryder Indoor Cycling. Her philosophy when it comes to having a successful exercise program and to achieve results is that one must keep their workouts fun and interesting so that they will never get bored. Tanya has been spinning for 9 years and has been teaching spin going on 5 years. She combines her love for outdoor cycling and music to create a challenging class to upbeat music. She utilizes the Real Ryder bikes for that upper body and core workout that you can't get off of an ordinary spinning bike. She loves a great workout matched with GREAT music!
